The headmaster of St. Cakes invites you to the founder’s day celebration of his school. Dust off your school uniform, knock off a few years and join us for this momentous event!
No acting ability needed other than acting like a child. School dinner provided. Wine is an extra charge. (St Cakes has a slightly lax policy on underage drinking).
Witness the murders, eat, drink and be merry and help solve the horrendous crime.

Saturday 20th June 2009, Church Fête New
2:00pm The Court, Axbridge
By kind permission of Mr & Mrs Jenkins the Church fête will once again be at the Court in St. Mary Street.
Opening by Stephen Moss, local writer, naturalist and TV producer. This year's theme is Country & Garden Flowers. Prize for the best flowery hat, and special flower displays in Church!
Entry by programme £1 per adult. All welcome!!
Tuesday 23rd June 2009, Let's Waste Less New
The Square
Somerset Waste Partnership is holding a roadshow in Axbridge on Tues 23rd June as part of National Recycle Week, the theme of which this year is "Let's Waste Less". The roadshow will be in the Square for most of the day, and will focus on food waste reduction.
Sunday 28th June 2009, Axbridge Cycling Group
9:00am The Square
The wind may blow, the rain may fall, and the temperatures may have dropped like a stone, but Axbridge Cycling Group pedals on! We've been out in all weathers, and taken refuge in cafes all over the place.
We meet in the Square, Axbridge, for a 2 hours ish ride. One hour out, a coffee stop, and one hour back. We try and have routes to suit everyone, depending on who's coming out. There are usually at least four people, and sometimes as many as 8 or more. Saturday 4th July 2009, Bath & Wells 1100 years New
10:00am from the Square
There will be a coach to Glastonbury for the pageant & celebrations of 1100 years of the diocese. If you would like to go along, tickets will be between £3 and £5, and the coach will leave at 10:00am, returning after the pageant.

Our Farmers' Market has a number of stalls in the Square (or the Town Hall if the weather's really bad) Usual stalls and produce include: bread; local beef; pork & poultry; lamb; buffalo meat; fish & fishcakes; olives; cream; soft yew's milk cheese; hard cheeses; cakes; local vegetables; plant stall; pickles & chutneys; ice cream. Wednesday 8th July 2009, The Axbridge Initiative New
6:00pm onwards, at the Oakhouse
The Chamber of Commerce is planning an event to be known as ‘The Axbridge Initiative’ (TAI). Any small businesses in Axbridge are welcome to come along to discover areas of mutual interest which will give a boost to the Axbridge economy. The event will be held in the Oak House on Wednesday 8th July. Between 6pm and 7:30pm there will be a ‘free-to-network’ event where businesses can meet each other and find out just what resources there are in the town. After 7:30pm there will be an optional networking dinner with a slightly more formal approach to networking.
The cost of the event is being sponsored by various Axbridge businesses and the dinner will be only £10, payable direct to the Oak House.

Antiques Roadshow with Toby Pinn from Clevedon Sale Rooms makes a welcome return.

Saturday 21st November 2009, Progressive Dinner
Axbridge Progressive Dinner 2009 will take place on 21st November 2009. We will be supporting the 2010 Pageant and all revenue will be given to the Pageant Fund Raising Committee. Everyone is welcome to attend this fun evening of three courses in three different houses with different guests at each course.
