Axbridge Saxon Football Club
|
History The Club was founded in 1997 when a group of dads were invited by Harry Mottram to have a kick around. This was followed by the starting of a mini football side in September 1999. Since then the Club has grown rapidly to become probably the largest single pursuit group in Axbridge. Present Format: The Club has a veterans (over 30's) and Juniors Section (Under 18's) and a central committee consisting of a Club President, Club Treasurer, Club Secretary plus the Chairmen of the two sections. This year the Club achieved the coveted Charter Standard Status from the Football Association. This entailed all coaches and managers passing examinations on football skills, first aid and for the Junior Section - Child protection training.
